What is the difference between Static IP and Dynamic IP?

First we must know, what is the IP address?

Just as we have a mail address, electronic devices connected to the Internet also need addresses, which is known as an IP address. It is a series of numbers separated by periods, the number of which varies depending on the version, there is IPv4 consisting of four digits and IPv6 consisting of eight digits.

IPv4: Consists of four digits, each digit is the decimal (base 10) representation of eight (base 2) binary digits, separated by periods or -dot- like: 198.160.21.10 and represents 32 bits.

IPv6: consists of eight digits, each digit being a base-16 number representation, separated by a colon (:), eg, abcd: 0000: 1234: 6574: 7589: 9812: 0000: 4321. It represents 128 bits -128 bit -

There are two ways to get the IP address, either Static or Dynamic, but what is the difference between them?

Static IP: whose name is an address that does not change and is set by the user and is usually used in servers or large companies because it is a rare address.

It is difficult to distribute the fixed IP to all Internet users due to the limited number in the popular version, which is IPv4. Perhaps this is the reason that led to the creation of IPv6.

One of the advantages of the Static IP is your ability to browse the Internet faster, so that the device saves cookies for the site on your device every time you browse the same site, but if the IP is static, you will not need to re-download it so that the site actually recognizes you.

But in return, you will increase the chance of being hacked, so that once your address ID makes it easier for the hacker or malicious sites to enter your device and harm it.

Dynamic IP: Your device's IP address changes every time you restart your router, and is given to you by your carrier.

* Dynamic IP is the opposite of Static IP in terms of advantages and disadvantages, as it is characterized by higher protection, but browsing is slower for the reason mentioned in the advantages of a static IP.

Can I know the type of IP on my device?

Of course you can! This is done by following the following steps:

1. Go to the start menu.

2. When searching, type cmd.

3. A blacklist will appear with an indicator, type ip config in it.

4. The device will show its network information, including the IPv4 address, and this is your address.
